OSHA 10 Safety Training [December 16-17, 2019]

 

Carpentry is designed to prepare students for employment in the residential and commercial construction industry.  Students are involved in print reading, layout and fabrication of foundations, floors, walls, ceilings and roofs. Students will use several forms of materials such as wood, metal, plastics, fiberglass, and concrete in the construction process. 

Training will emphasize instruction in the care and safe use of hand and power tools.

Carpenters are employed in all communities, throughout the country. Carpenters make up the largest building trades occupation and Carpentry jobs are expected to increase by 24% between 2012 -2022.

APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING: The Carpentry program offers national certification through NCCER for apprenticeship training.

COLLEGE CREDIT: Students in the Carpentry program can receive college credit by utilizing the articulation agreements with KCTCS.             

The program and instructor are NCCER certified      

The program offers students an NCCER and OSHA 10 safety certification
